The production facility at Posch GmbH in Leibnitz

The production of the multifunctional rausschwärmer caravan made in Austria. The production facility is located in the halls of Posch-GmbH in Leibnitz in southern Austria. The factory specialises in the manufacture of technically complex machines for firewood production. At first glance, the rauschwärmer is an outlier in the portfolio, but the factory’s equipment, machinery and employees had no problems accommodating and manufacturing this concept. Almost all components are produced in this factory and we are more independent and flexible than companies that rely on many suppliers.

The chassis of the trailers are made of hot-dip galvanised steel. Only the axles and the brake system are bought in and the rest of the frame is also manufactured here. At first glance, many observers assume that we are using a horse trailer and just converting it. This is not the case. Furthermore, the upper body of the trailer is mainly made of aluminium and stainless steel, which is also not the case with horse trailers. The floor of the interior is made of waterproof glued plywood panels. All individual parts and segments of the upper body are drawn by the designer in 3D CAD software and prototypes are developed and tested. Further technical details can be found in the details section.

Production and assembly

Production begins with laser cutting and CNC bending of the raw sheet metal. The parts of the functional caravan are then welded together to form individual components. In the next step, these larger components are sent to the powder coating plant, where they are given the elegant coloured corrosion protection. Now the finished segments are transferred to the assembly line and assembly can begin. Most segments can also be dismantled again if required. This also makes it possible to repair or convert the car trailer. With a standard caravan, on the other hand, where all parts of the body are glued together, it is often not possible to replace individual segments. Below you can see some video clips from the field of powder coating and laser cutting.

Vehicles that have been completed are either transported to the customer by lorry or collected from the factory premises in our own towing vehicle. We provide a blue transfer licence plate for collection with your own car. Collection usually takes place on Saturdays between 10:00 and 15:00. However, this time frame is flexible and can be adapted to the customer’s needs.
